Hearts of Oak striker Ouatching Yassan has earned a call up to the Central African Republic national team ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Born in Douala, Cameroon, the 23-year-old has switched his international allegiance to represent Central African Republic after completing his paper works.

Central African Republic will begin their 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Angola on June 1, 2022, before playing Ghana four days later.

Central African Republic are in Group E for the qualifiers alongside, Angola, Madagascar, and Ghana.

The lanky striker penned a three-year deal with Hearts of Oak after impressing coach Samuel Boadu who okayed the player’s signing for next season.

The Phobians, in a bid to solve their major problem area, allowed the 23-year-old to train with the side despite the closure of the transfer window to foreign players.

Yassan Ouatching played for UMS de Loum and Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) in his home country before leaving in 2021 to sign for Myanmar side Zwekaping United. After 16 months, he moved on to Bangladesh where he signed for Mohammedan SC where lasted just four months. He has been a free agent since August 2021.
