OFFICIAL: Coach Kwasi Appiah to vie for GFA EXCO membership position

On Monday, August 14, James Kwasi Appiah formally submitted a nomination form to secure a position on the ticket of the betPawa Premier League within the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council in the upcoming elections.
The former defender of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is reported to have successfully completed the obligatory filing procedure. The filing process concluded on Friday, August 11, 2023. He is now actively campaigning to secure a place on the Ghana Football Association Board of Directors for the next four years.
Despite initially announcing October 2023 as the month for the elective congress, the Ghana Football Association later confirmed September 27, 2023, as the specific date for the quadrennial election to select leaders for the subsequent four years.
In the race for the presidency seat, George Kwesi Afriyie, the former Vice President of the GFA, will compete against the incumbent, Kurt Okraku.
For the women’s premier league slot, Gifty Oware-Mensah, the owner of Berry Ladies Football Club, remains unopposed as the sole candidate who filed her candidacy by the closing date on Friday.
