Wilson Burton Asare, who happens to be the biological father of Ghanaian international midfielder Clifford Aboagye, has been appointed as the second assistant coach for Asante Kotoko.
Wilson Asare is now part of the technical team of the Porcupines, which is under the leadership of Prosper Narteh Ogum as the head coach and David Ocloo as the first assistant coach. This development comes as the team gears up for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
Bringing a wealth of experience to the role as a CAF License B coach, Wilson Asare has a notable history in the domestic topflight. He previously guided Inter Allies to their first title victory in 2010.
As the players of Asante Kotoko regrouped on Monday to initiate preparations for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign, this addition to the technical staff further reinforces their team structure.
To kick off their preparations for the 2023/24 league season, the Reds will embark on their pre-season activities at Beposo in the Ashanti Region, starting on August 8, 2023.
Marking the commencement of the 2023/24 season in the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko will face off against league returnees Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
