Togolese champions ASKO de Kara pip Medeama at Cape Coast in pre-season friendly

In a friendly match held at the Glowlamb Soccer Academy Park, Ghanaian champions Medeama experienced a 1-0 defeat against Togolese champions ASKO de Kara in preparation for the upcoming preliminary rounds of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.
The closely contested game witnessed both teams engaged in a fierce battle throughout the first 45 minutes, resulting in a goalless score.
However, the second half saw ASKO de Kara breaking the impasse, securing the sole goal of the match.
Despite ASKO de Kara being reduced to 10 players later in the game, Medeama couldn’t take advantage of the numerical superiority and were unable to find the equalizing goal.
This recent loss marks Medeama’s second setback in friendly matches as they gear up for their CAF Champions League campaign.
In a fixture held on Wednesday, the team experienced a 3-2 defeat against newcomers to the Ghana Premier League, Nations FC.
Medeama is diligently preparing for their forthcoming CAF Champions League Preliminary Round clash against Nigerian side Remo Stars.
The pivotal fixtures against Remo Stars are scheduled to occur on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Cape Coast Stadium, followed by the second leg on Sunday, August 27, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ogun State.
