'I am grateful to Otumfuo for the opportunity to serve on the Kotoko board' - Evelyn Nsiah-Asare

Evelyn Nsiah Asare, a football administrator, has expressed that her role as a board member of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club was a challenging experience.

She shared her thoughts in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports following the dissolution of the club’s board before the commencement of the 2023-2024 BetPawa Ghana Premier League season.

Since the board’s dissolution, an interim management committee has been appointed, with Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi taking on the role of Administrative Manager and former Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah appointed as the club’s Technical Director.

Reflecting on her time as a board member, Evelyn Nsiah Asare revealed, “It was an experience. It was good, it was not easy because…23 years experience in the women’s game, three years in the men’s game, there was a bit [of] difference but I think it was good.

She expressed her gratitude to Manhyia and Opemsuor (Otumfuo Osei Tutu II) for granting her the opportunity to serve on the board. She believes that she fulfilled the expectations placed upon her during her tenure and wishes the club well going forward.

“I have served, I am done and I thank Manhyia so much. I thank Opemsuor (Otumfuo Osei Tutu II) for giving me this opportunity. It was an honour done me and I believe I did it to the perfection of what they wanted from me and I wish them well.”

Asante Kotoko is scheduled to kick off the new league season in September with a match against newly promoted side Kpando Hearts of Lions.
