Simms SHS beat record holders Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) to emerge champions of the 2023 Ashanti Regional Inter-School Boys’ Soccer Championship on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
After a 1-1 stalemate, the Fawoade-based Simms defeated the eight-times winners 5-3 on penalties to clinch the trophy for the first time in the history of the school.
Jonathan Edwards netted for Simms with Farouk Omar Awidana equalising for OKESS.

Simms, coached by former Fabulous Ladies forward Sandra Boakye, did not win the trophy on a silver platter as they had to shrug off threats from Islamic SHS and last year’s finalist T.I. Amass-Kumasi in the process.
T.I. Amass-Kumasi, who were highly tipped to win the competition after losing the semifinals, failed to secure the third-place slot as they suffered a slender 1-0 defeat to Our Lady of Grace SHS. Kelvin Agyei scored the only goal in the encounter.

Simms SHS beat T.I. Amass 2-1 to book their historic final spot. They were very impressive as they went 2-0 up before Kotoko youngster Rocky Dwamena pulled one back.
OKESS, on the other hand, silenced their critics by dominating their semifinal game with cheeky ease as they scored six goals to one against Our Lady of Grace SHS.
