Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey joins Turkish club Besiktas

Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey has finalized his move to Turkish Super Lig powerhouse Besiktas JK on a free transfer during the ongoing summer transfer window.

After concluding his six-and-a-half-year tenure with English Championship side Leicester City last season, Amartey became a free agent. Despite attracting interest from several clubs, including Scottish giants Rangers, the Black Stars player has opted to join the Istanbul-based club.

Amartey has agreed to a two-year contract with the option for an additional year, providing Besiktas with defensive reinforcement. Prior to leaving Leicester City, the Ghana international made over 106 appearances in the English Premier League following his arrival from Denmark in 2016.

With 48 senior international caps for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, Amartey brings his wealth of experience to Besiktas as they aim for success in the Turkish Super Lig.
