On Sunday afternoon, Ghanaian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana delivered a stellar performance, scoring twice as Southampton played out a thrilling 4-4 draw against Liverpool in the English Premier League.
Starting for Southampton in their final match of the season at St. Mary’s, Sulemana made an immediate impact. In the 28th minute, he found the back of the net with an assist from Theo Walcott.
Prior to Sulemana’s goal, Liverpool had been in control of the match, taking a two-goal lead within the first 15 minutes through strikes from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
However, Southampton fought back before halftime. Sulemana’s goal and another from James Ward-Prowse leveled the game at 2-2.
In the 48th minute, Sulemana showcased his individual brilliance, scoring after an impressive solo run to put Southampton in the lead.
Despite Adam Armstrong extending Southampton’s advantage to 4-2 in the 64th minute, they were unable to secure the victory.
Late goals from Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota ensured that Liverpool mounted a comeback, forcing the match to end in an exciting 4-4 draw.
