Asante Kotoko coach Abdulai Gazale expresses disappointment in his team’s patchy defending

Abdul Gazale, the coach of Asante Kotoko, has expressed disappointment in his team’s defense due to the unfortunate goals they have conceded in recent games.
Despite dropping points at home against Tamale City, the Porcupine Warriors remain outside the top four and are currently eight points behind league leaders Aduana Stars.
Gazale specifically blamed goalkeeper Frederick Asare for the goal conceded in the draw against Tamale City. With an upcoming game against Bibiani Gold Stars, Gazale has called for an improvement in the defensive department to prevent conceding avoidable goals.
“We have been picking the matches one after the other, and that match against Bibiani Gold Stars is one we also have to work on our finishing as well. We will not stop from the defensive orientation, and as far as air ball is concerned, we will continue to work on it to see how best we can manage up till the end of the season,” Gazale said on Peace FM.
“The way we are conceding those particular goals is unfortunate, and it keeps on happening. But the defenders and the goalkeeper have to talk to each other to see how best they can handle it. We have done a lot concerning that particular aspect.”
According to Gazale, the way his team is conceding goals is unfortunate and needs to be addressed. He has called on the defenders and goalkeeper to work together to handle such situations.
Kotoko will have to win all their remaining games if they hope to defend their title.
