Mamelodi Sundowns coach Steve Komphela consoles Samuel Boadu after Hearts of Oak’s heavy defeat to WAC

Steve Komphela, Head Coach of Mamelodi Sundowns has sent out words of encouragement to Hearts of Oak manager, Samuel Boadu after a 6-1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) on Sunday night in Morocco.
The Phobians went into the game with a slight advantage having won the first leg 1-0 and were hoping to make the group stages of the prestigious CAF competition for the first time since 2006.
However, they were hammered by the Moroccan Champions at the Mohammed V Stadium, losing the game 6-1 and exiting the competition with a 6-2 aggregate scoreline
Reacting to the defeat, Steve Komphela said; “It is night like these where real character is built. All that he reflected on must be his template of how to overcome,” he Tweeted.

The defeat means that Hearts of Oak will now drop to CAF Confederations Cup and will know their next opponents on Tuesday, October 26.
Hearts of Oak will commence their Ghana Premier League title defense with a home game against Legon Cities on Sunday, October 31.
