Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey says they are aiming to prove a point to the whole of Africa when they host Wydad Athletic Club in the first leg of the playoffs to the group stage of the 2021/22 Caf Champions League on Sunday.
The Ghanaians giants secured qualification to this stage after eliminating CI Kamsar to book their ticket against the Moroccan champions.
However, due to their long absence from the competition and the success of their opponents in the continental competitions, the Phobians go into the game as underdogs.
But, according to Nettey, the club is eager to show the continent that they are capable of competing and beating the best and not just participating.
“We are going out there all guns blazing.
“We know we have been out of the competition for a very long time.
“We are back and we want to prove a point, not just that but to the whole of Africa that we did not make the progression by fluke kickoffrevealed ahead of the match.
CAF have approved 2,000 fans to be allowed at the Accra Sports Stadium for the encounter. Kickoff is 15:00 GMT.
