2024 Olympic Games qualifiers: Ghana beat Benin to qualify to the next round

1 min read

Ghana’s Black Queens are through to the third stage of the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifiers after handing Benin a 2:0 defeat in Accra.

It was a nerve racking game in the Ghanaian capital from the blast of the whistle as both sides remain resolute to produce a barren first half.

Evelyn Badu’s strike in the 65th minute opened the scoring chances of the Black Queens before mounting pressure on the Benin defense resulting in an own goal in favour of the Black Queens.

The Black Queens will now advance to the third stage of the qualifiers after handing the Amazons of Benin a 5:0 defeat on aggregate.

The stage is now set for the Black Queens to face Zambia in the third round in February in the quest to qualify for the fourth and final round.
