2023 CHAN Q: Coach Annor Walker reportedly picks final 28-man squad to face Benin, five Hearts of Oak players included

Head Coach of the Black Galaxies, formerly the Black Stars B has reportedly announced his final squad for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Annor Walker a month ago handed call-up to over 35 players to commence preparations for the qualifiers at the Ghana Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The Great Olympics gaffer has now curtailed the list to 28 players to intensify preparations for the qualifiers which begins later this month.

The squad is made up of the likes of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Imoro Ibrabim, Mohammed Alhassan, Gladson Awako, Dennis Korsah, Danlad Ibrabim, Abdulai Iddrisu, Razak Kassim and so on.

Surprisingly, there was no room for the likes of Umar Bashiru, Bright Adjei, Jonah Attuquaye, Ronald Frimpong, Yaw Annor, Henry Ainsu and so on. Augustine Okrah didn’t as well make the squad as he has reportedly joined Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

Black Stars B will face Benin in the first round of qualifiers in July. Should they emerge victorious, they’ll face Nigeria in the second round, with the winner securing a place at the CHAN.

The Black Stars B have missed the last three CHAN tournaments and are hoping to make the next one which will be staged in Algeria in 2023.
