2022 CAF Awards: Sadio Mane wins the ultimate; Oshoala clinches fifth Women player of the year - Full list of award winners

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) on Thursday night awarded the best performing African players and national teams.

The awards ceremony which was held In Morocco was based on the performance of players and national teams in the months under review (September 2021 to June 2022).

New Bayern Munich signee and Senegalese international Sadio Mane was named Men’s Player of the year for the second time. Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala was named Women’s Player of the year for the fifth time unprecedented time.

Ghanaian and former Hasaacas Ladies midfielder Evelyn Badu scooped two awards, winning the CAF Inter-club Women’s Player of the year and CAF Women Young Player of the year.

The Indomitable Lions of Senegal were named Men’s National Team of the year, Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco was named Men Club of the year and so on.

Club of the Year (Women)

Mamelodi Sundowns – South Africa

Club of the Year (Men)

Wydad Athletic Club – Morocco

National Team of the Year (Men)

Senegal – (AFCON 2021 Winners)

Goal of the Year

Pape Ousmane Sakho – Senegal & Simba SC

NB: Women’s National Team of The Year will be announced on Saturday after the WAFCON final between South Africa and Morocco.
