Asante Kotoko youth trainer Abdulai Gazele and former Asante Kotoko assistant coach Prince Acheampong ‘Sabuto’ will be hoping to make the headlines in the ongoing Ashanti Regional inter-school soccer competition at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi.
AMASS, led by Abdulai Gazele, have pipped Obuasi Sec Tech 1-0 in the second semifinals of the soccer competition after the latter won a protest over Asanteman SHS.
They will now meet OWASS, led by Prince Acheampong ‘Sabuto’, in the final for the ultimate.
OWASS defeated OKESS 4-2 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time earlier in the day.
A lot of Kotoko faithfuls have keen interest in who among their family members to lift the trophy.
Interestingly, Sabuto who left AMASS last year to join OWASS, has won the trophy twice at his former place in 2009 and 2018.
He is now hoping to make it a treble and first time at OWASS, where he completed his secondary education as a student about three decades ago.
Gazele, on the other hand, hopes to win the trophthy for the first time and possibly makes a huge statement why many believes he is one of the best coaches at the juvenile level.
The third place match between O’SEC/TECH and OKESS and the final encounter between OWASS and AMASS are expected to be played either on Wednesday or Friday.
