2022/23 WPL Day 1: Northern Ladies hold Ampem Darkoa, Supreme, Army Ladies secure big wins as Hasaacas pip Berry Ladies

The 2022/23 Ghana Women’s Premier League commenced over the weekend with match-day 1 encounters at the various venues.

Defending league champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Northern Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman. Mary Rose Akunne opened the scoring for the visitors on the 7th minute before Tracy Twum equalised for Ampem Darkoa early in the second half.

Hasaacas Ladies FC continued the dominance over Berry Ladies with a 78th minute strike from Doreen Copson to set up the new Women’s Premier League to a flying start.

Linda Owusu Ansah’s brace and a goal each by Pateince Berchie, Felicity Asante, and Anna Foriwaa handed Supreme Ladies a resounding 5-0 victory over Candy Soccer Academy.
