Accra Hearts of Oak suffered their fourth consecutive defeat of the season, losing 2-1 to Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak took the lead in the 35th minute when Linda Mtange calmly finished a superb pass from Eric Esso.
However, just a minute into the second half, Abdul Manaf Umar equalized for RTU by pouncing on the rebound from Mohammed Mankuyeli’s shot.
In the 72nd minute, Hearts of Oak were reduced to 10 men as Eric Esso received a straight red card. RTU capitalized on the advantage and scored their second goal in the 80th minute through Stephen Dankwa Badu.
Despite Hearts of Oak’s efforts to find an equalizer in the remaining minutes, RTU defended resolutely to secure a 2-1 victory. RTU also finished the game with 10 players, while Hearts of Oak had a goal disallowed for offside.
Meanwhile, Bechem United sealed a 2-0 victory against Berekum Chelsea with goals from Joseph Kinful and Cephas Kofi Mantey at the Nana Fosu Gyeabor Park.
Samartex held Medeama to a goalless draw at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. This result means Medeama will need to earn at least a point in their final game against Tamale City to clinch the Premier League title.
Nsoatreman secured a 2-1 home win against Aduana FC, securing their place in the top-flight league for another season. Samuel Ofori scored a brace for Nsoatreman, while Kelvin Obeng scored the consolation goal for Aduana.
Karela United kept their hopes of survival alive with a 3-2 home victory over Bibiani GoldStars. Evans Adomako scored two goals, and George Amonoo added another for Karela. Abednego Tetteh netted both goals for GoldStars, bringing his tally for the season to 18.
Already relegated Kotoku Royals won 4-1 against Tamale City in Dawu. Francis Andy Kumi scored a brace, while Richard Amoah and Tahir Mensah contributed the other goals. Godknows Dzapkasu scored Tamale City’s only goal.
Asante Kotoko emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium. Sarfo Taylor scored the lone goal of the game in the 22nd minute, reacting quickly to a rebound from Georges Mfegue’s effort that hit the post.
Dreams FC secured their place in the betPawa Premier League for another season by defeating Great Olympics 2-1. Godfred Atuahene and Ali Huzaif found the back of the net for Dreams, while Solomon Adomako scored for Great Olympics.
King Faisal ended their winless streak of six league games with a 3-1 victory over Legon Cities. Abdul Latif scored two goals, and Baba Yahaya added another for King Faisal, while Ebenezer Armegah scored a consolation goal for Legon Cities.
Despite their 3-1 win, King Faisal has been relegated to the Division One league.
