But Captain Andre Ayew was joined by nine other players on the first day of training on Monday afternoon as Ghana commenced preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.

The players included returnee Afriyie Acquah, Saudi based Samuel Owusu, Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew, Tarique Fosu of Brentford, John Antwi and Ashantigold defender Kwadwo Amoako. Others were Razak Abalora, Nicholas Opoku and Emmanuel Lomotey.
Other players are expected in camp.

Aboagye has cut after initially missing out on Akonnor’s 23 man squad.

The Black Stars are currently leaders in Group C after securing six points in two matches played and they will be eager for the maximum points when they take on Sudan to book a place in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament set to take place next year.
