2020/21 GPL: Match Report: Samuel Boakye second-half strike sinks King Faisal

Techiman Eleven Wonders lifted themselves out of the relegation zone after beating King Faisal 1-0 at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman in Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Young striker Samuel Boakye struck the solitary goal of the game with an 80th minute finish which sunk Kassim Gokiyildiz and his men.

The tie sparked a lot of off-the-field controversy with King Faisal alleging that Wonders players sprinkled some concoctions on the field of play.

A lot of things were at stake in this tie but the most important of them was the maximum points which either side needed to move themselves out of the relegation zone.

The win has moved Wonders to 15th berth with 30 points – a point better than Faisal who now sit 16th on the chart and still facing the dangers of relegation from the top-flight.
