Great Olympics defeated Inter Allies 2-0 in the Accra derby to bounce back to winning ways.
Both sides came into the game in bad form and needed to make a statement in this game.
Olympics started the game the better side and found themselves ahead in the 8th minute, they were awarded a spot kick after Desmond Abuga tripped his opponent in the box. Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye stepped up and beat goalkeeper Rashid Seidu.
Inter Allies in the remaining minutes of the first half stepped their game up and saw more of the ball, but they failed to do anything useful with it in the final third.
The Eleven is to One side at the start of the second half continued to dominate the game, but failed to trouble goalkeeper Saed Salifu.
Olympics should have made it 2-0 in the 65th minute, a miskick by Eric Bonsu fell to Michael Otou who skied his effort.
Great Olympics made it 2-0 in 80th minute, they were awarded a spot kick after Ernest Adu handled the ball in the 18 yard box. Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye stepped up once again and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Olympics held on to win 2-0 and move up to 4th on the league table with 14 points, just a point behind leaders AshantiGold, whiles Inter Allies were condemned to their 6th defeat in just 9 games this season and sit 16th on the league table with 7 points.
