2020/21 GPL: Bottom-placed Inter Allies face-off with league contenders Asante Kotoko [Preview, Team News & TV channels to watch the game]

Bottom-placed Inter Allies will welcome Asante Kotoko to the capital with a matchday clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Inter Allies are reeling in a tough campaign that has seen them wallowing in the drop zone after 28 games.

For the Porcupines, a win against inter Allies is non-negotiable after rivals Hearts of Oak stretched the lead at the top after defeating Medeama SC on Sunday evening.

However, the host hasn’t been a walkover for the Porcupines, who have managed two wins and lost their last five meetings.

Matches between the two sides have been decided by a goal margin – a record that suggests how close their games can be.

Meanwhile, Inter Allies aren’t precisely the side they’ve shown to be since earning promotion to the top division after conceding 27 in the 28 games played so far. Yet they have managed to score five times in their last two home games – a 5-0 win against Berekum Chelsea before beating Medeama 3-0.

While the odds may be stacked against them, Allies could get a point, at least should they continue their scoring feat when they come against Kotoko, who have proven goal-shy in their last few games.

Kotoko coach Mariano Barreto has been vocal about his team inability to score more despite going unbeaten in eight matches.

Per statistics this season and previous game records, a win for the Porcupines shouldn’t be an impossible task for Asante Kotoko in Dawu.

The match is scheduled for 3 PM and will be live on Startimes/ Adepa TV Channel.
