INTERCO: T. I AMASS-Kumasi top Zone One; OT, others qualify for Super Zonal [Check Boys & Girls results]

The final zone of the ongoing zonal championship of the Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition in the Ashanti Region, more commonly known as “INTERCO,” came to a close on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Six schools each in the Boys and Girls categories progressed to the Super Zonal from Zone One, which is the final zone.

Twenty-five (25) schools competed in the Boys division, while twenty-nine (29) schools participated in the Girls division in the two-day event held from Thursday, May 18, 2023, to Friday, May 19, 2023.

Six schools in each division qualified for the Super Zonal slated for next week on Thursday and Friday.

T. I. AMASS of Kumasi topped the Boys division with 194 points, with Aduman Senior High School placing 2nd with 98 points after the two days. Osei Tutu Senior High School, Akropong, managed to finish third with 89 points, while Kumasi Secondary Technical School, Effiduase Senior High School, and Asanteman Senior High School finished from fourth to sixth positions, respectively.

In the Girls division, T. I. Amass of Kumasi picked the first position with an impressive 227 points, while Aduman Girls were second with 127 points.


Effiduase SHS placed third with 62 points, while Asanteman SHS finished fourth with 58 points, with Dadease SHS and Serwaa Nyarko SHS placing fifth and sixth, respectively.
