Emmanuel Sarpong, the striker for Berekum Chelsea, has made it clear that his team has no intention of allowing Hearts of Oak to secure three points in their final match of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Sarpong emphasized that the Blues are fully focused and working hard in training to ensure victory against the Phobians.
“I don’t understand where these speculations are coming from. I don’t see how we would just hand over the game to Hearts because they are facing relegation. We started the league together, so if they haven’t done things right, I don’t think any club would play a match just to save them,” Emmanuel Sarpong stated in an interview with Oyerepa FM.
He further added, “Such things don’t happen in the Ghana Premier League. As a player, it doesn’t matter to me if it’s a big club or not. We will simply follow the coach’s instructions and if that leads us to the desired result, then so be it.”
“As players, we are completely focused on our training to ensure we win the game.”
Hearts of Oak are set to face Berekum Chelsea in a crucial must-win game on Sunday, June 11.
