Samuel Inkoom apologizes to Hearts of Oak fans after club's poor season

Samuel Inkoom, the defender for Hearts of Oak, has taken the opportunity to apologize to the club’s fans for a disappointing season. Despite being Ghanaian giants, they found themselves in a relegation battle, finishing 12th on the table, just four points above the relegation zone.

Hearts of Oak had previously achieved league victory two years ago and consecutive FA Cup triumphs, raising expectations for success. However, this season proved to be a challenging one for the former African champions, leading to the dismissal of two coaches during the campaign.

In a social media post, Inkoom expressed his sincere apologies for the team’s underwhelming performance, emphasizing the importance of fan support and acknowledging the efforts of the Board and Chairman Togbe Afede XIV. He ended his message with a rallying cry of “PHOBIA!!!!”

As for Inkoom’s own future with the Accra-based club, it remains uncertain following his one-and-a-half-year tenure. After enjoying a successful career abroad, including stints at FC Basel, Dnipro, Boavista, and Antalyaspor, Inkoom returned home in 2021.
