Samuel Boadu denies joining Kumasi Cornerstone FC as head coach
1 min readSamuel Boadu has refuted the reports claiming that he has accepted an offer to become the stop-gap coach of Kumasi Cornerstone FC.
On Monday, the Division Two side officially announced the appointment of the former Hearts of Oak coach as their stop-gap coach, expressing confidence in Boadu’s experience and tactical expertise to positively impact the team.
According to the club’s statement, Boadu’s appointment allows for the possibility of him leaving whenever a bigger opportunity arises.
However, Boadu, in an interview, denied the news of his appointment and firmly asserted that he is not joining Cornerstone FC.
“I have not signed for Cornerstone, I’m even surprised. No disrespect to the club, but I cannot join a club in Division Two. Everyone knows my pedigree in the game; it can never be true. How can I leave a top club in Ghana and drop to the lower-tier?” he told Kessben FM.
As a coach with a remarkable track record, including leading Hearts of Oak to victory in five major trophies during his two-year tenure, Boadu’s denial sheds light on the ongoing speculation surrounding his coaching future.
His recent stint with the Black Satellites in the WAFU B Cup of Nations might have further piqued interest in his career, but as of now, he has dismissed any association with Kumasi Cornerstone FC.
