Local reports indicate that Nations FC, a team in the Division One League, is in discussions with Maxwell Konadu to become their new head coach. The club, which has secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League, is looking to strengthen its technical team in preparation for its debut season in the top flight.
Nations FC sealed their qualification to the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over West African Football Academy (WAFA) at the Dr Kwame Keyi Sports Complex last Saturday, guided by former Asante Kotoko assistant coach Johnson Smith.
However, according to Footydreamsgh.com, the club’s leadership is engaged in talks with former Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu to assume the role of head coach. Johnson Smith, previously with Skyy FC, is expected to be appointed as the assistant coach of the team.
Maxwell Konadu, who is currently the head coach of Legon Cities, has faced significant scrutiny following his team’s defeat against Bechem United. He criticized the players for their lack of training ahead of the match, which took place at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Konadu is a respected and experienced coach in the Ghana Premier League.
