Nations Football Club have announced the appointment of coach Stephen Frimpong Manso as their new head coach.
The announcement comes less than 24 hours after mutually parting ways with Kassim Ocansey Mingle and his assistant Johnson Smith.
Frimpong Manso, who left Bibiani GoldStars following their early exit from the CAF Champions League qualifiers against JS Kabylie, now leads the Technical department of Nations FC, and will be hoping to revive their campaign after a disappointing start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
It would be recalled that the former Ghana international led GoldStars to their first-ever Premier League title last season, earning widespread praise for his tactical prowess and man-management skills.
A statement from the club read on Tuesday, “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Frimpong Manso as Head Coach and Aboagye Dacosta as his Assistant.”
His appointment is viewed as a strong statement of intent from Nations FC’s hierarchy, who are eager to restore the team’s competitiveness and reignite their title aspirations after a sluggish opening to the season.
Nations FC have recorded only two wins in seven matches, prompting swift managerial changes aimed at turning their fortunes around.
Manso is expected to assume duties immediately and could make his debut on the touchline in the club’s next league fixture.
The club is also set to unveil members of his backroom staff in the coming days as they look to stabilize performances and climb up the league standings.
