The early substitution of star boy Mohammed Kudus in the English Premier League (EPL) match on Sunday January 4, 2026 has left many Ghanaians perturbed.
Mohammed Kudus played 15 minutes in the EPL fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland at White Hart Lane. He was substituted because of an injury he picked on his left leg.
This development has put most football loving Ghanaians into a pensive mood ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup though the medics of Tottenham are yet to ascertain and declare the severity of the injury.
The left attacker played a key role in Black Stars qualification for the upcoming World Cup. The Stars played 10 qualifying matches in Group I comprising Madagascar, Mali, Comoros, Central Africa Republic and Chad.

They won eight, drew one and lost one, grabbing an amazing 25 points to top the group.
Mohammed Kudus was instrumental in this qualification scoring some important goals.
This is going to be his second world cup appearance having featured prominently in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup and scored a brace in Black Stars game against South Korea.
Coach Otto Addo and football fans in the country are counting on him to deliver the goods in the much awaited FIFA World Cup slated for USA, Canada and Mexico in June – July.

However, his lattest injury seems to inflict pains on world cup hopeful Ghanaians who are praying that it will be a minor one.
