The friendly match between the Ghana U23 team, known as the Black Meteors, and the Egypt U23 team showcased a strong display of skill and determination.
The match took place at the Alexandria Stadium as part of the preparations for the upcoming 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Ghana started the game brightly and quickly took the lead in the 10th minute when their captain, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, found the back of the net.
However, just before halftime, the hosts managed to equalize, bringing the score to 1-1. Ibrahim Adel scored a goal for Egypt in the 28th minute, ensuring the teams went into the break on level terms.
Both teams continued to exhibit strong performances in the second half, but neither side could find the winning goal, resulting in a 1-1 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.
Ghana’s U23 team is scheduled to play another friendly match during their time in Egypt before heading to Morocco next week for the U23 AFCON tournament.
