The Chief Executive Officer of Databank Group Limited, Kojo Addae-Mensah has suggested that the current administration of Asante Kotoko led by Nana Yaw Ampknsah should develop a standard Operation Procedure(SOP) document for the continuous running of the club in future.
According to the Finance expert, the SOP document if established will guide the club’s recruitment of expertise into the club for the years ahead.

He is of the view that the running of the Porcupine Warriors should always be handed to individuals with Sports background with in-depth knowledge in the corporate world, and to him, the SOP, if developed, would give direction in that regard.
According to Addae-Mensah the status quo must change to reflect what is done in the professional running of a club and has therefore advised the current CEO of the Reds Nana Yaw Amponsah to establish a copy of SOP before his tenure of office comes to a close.
“Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) is absent in Kotoko and such a document should have been present in the club by now so that irrespective of whoever takes charge of the club will be aware of the laid down criteria for hiring expertise. When such a document is existent, only competent people will be employed.
“I would have wished he puts together such a document for approval before he started work but he has little time. It is difficult to work without an SOP, to be honest.”
“What I will advise him to do is when he is presenting any person for approval, he (CEO) can only present a detailed background of the person he wants to recruit and the board must understand and assess the individual based on that once there is no SOP. If there is an alternative then their backgrounds are measured,” he told Nhyira Power Sports.
The young administrator is yet to announce his management team as there are reported rift among the Board of Directors and the CEO with regards to names he has submitted for approval.
Nana Yaw was appointed on August 7, 2020, to steer affairs of the club in the next three years.
He is regarded as one of the people with a corporate eye in football administration.
