King Faisal part ways with head coach Slavisa Bozicic, dissolve entire technical team

King Faisal have officially cut ties with their Serbian trainer Slavisa Bozicic following their defeat to Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

King Faisal suffered a 2-1 loss to the Phobians at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman on match-day 6 of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League.

The Kumasi-based club has been unimpressive in the campaign.

Bozicic bidded farewell to the entire the playing body and other officials of the club after the game against Hearts of Oak.

A club statement on Sunday morning read:

“The Management wishes to announce for the information of the General Public, especially fans of the club that Slavisa Bozicic has been relieved of his duties as Head Coach of the club with immediate effect along with all members of the Technical Team.

The club also announced that Bozicic is leaving the club with the rest of the technical staff with a new set of technical staff to be announced in coming days.

“King Faisal Football Club would like to thank Mr. Bozicic and the technical team for the services rendered to the club and wish them the best going forward. The club has started a process for the recruitment of a new coach and technical staff.”

Media reports last week indicated the Serbian has been expelled after King Faisal’s 5-1 walloping by AshantiGold SC but the sporting director of the club denied it.

Bozicic has been under immense pressure since the beginning of the 2020/2021 season after failing to win a single match after 14 games in charge from last season.

Despite getting a win against Inter Allies about a fortnight ago, the ‘Insha Allah’ boys have gone on to suffer three consecutive defeats.

Slavisa played 19 matches, lost 11, drawn 7 and won one game during his stay with King Faisal.
