“I don’t bear him [Anas] any grudge. Me I can’t do anything to him. I don’t have the power to do anything to him. I leave him to God”

“If there is a day of judgement which I believe there is, it will be an interesting day to present our cases for the Almighty to judge us”

These were the emotional words of Kwesi Nyantakyi during an interview with Joy News, a subsidiary of Multimedia in Accra.

Kwesi Nyantakyi is undoubtedly one of the best GFA Presidents that Ghana Football has got since 1957 that the nation got Independence under President Kwame Nkrumah.

He assumed power in 2005 and led Ghana to many successes including three successive world cup appearances in 2006, 2010 and 2014.

Under his watch, the Black Stars won silver medals twice in 2010 and 2015 and bronze medals in 2008 apart from reaching the semi finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) five times in a roll.

The national U-20 team, the Black Satellites, became the first African side to win the World Youth Championship in 2009 under the leadership of Kwesi Nyantakyi.

By virtue of his good works, he rose to the top hierarchy of football including FIFA Executive Council Member, Ist Vice President of CAF and WAFU Zone B President.

In spite of all these accolades and the great heights to took Ghana Football to, he was trapped in 2019 by Investigative Journalist Anas which led to an abrupt end of his administration aside the chaos it brought into Ghana Football.

Speaking to Joy News, Nyantakyi refuted claims that he said the President at the time, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo was in his pocket in that famous expose’.

“I never said that anywhere. Please I challenge you. Within one day produce an evidence where I said the President was in my pocket. I never said that anywhere. But that allegation has gained so much notoriety that it will be irrogical for me to even stand up and contradict it” he challenged the host.
