Ghana defender, Gideon Mensah has been confirmed as a new player for French club AJ Auxerre.
Mensah has signed for his new side on a three-year contract.
The left-back has joined Auxerre from RB Salzburg – a team he signed for in 2017 from Liefering.
“Gideon Mensah commits to AJA! The club is pleased to announce the signing of the Ghanaian left-back on a three-year contract from Red Bull Salzburg,” Auxerre said.
The 24-year-old has been handed the number 14 shirt at Auxerre.
Mensah spent last season on loan at Bordeaux, where the defender made 23 appearances in what was a disastrous season for Les Girondins which saw the club relegated to Ligue 2.
The former Sturm Graz man has also been loaned to Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães.
The WAFA graduate has been capped 11 times by Ghana and was impressive in the 2022 World Cup playoff victory over Nigeria earlier this year.
