Former Ghana U20 and Atalanta star Patrick Asmah close to joining Asante Kotoko

The former Ghana U20 left-back is on the verge of completing his switch to the Porcupine Warriors ahead of their next season’s campaign.

Asante Kotoko are set to announce the signing of former Atlanta BC versatile player Patrick Asmah in the ongoing transfer window.

 Kickgh.com report that the 24-year-old is in advanced talks with officials of Asante Kotoko over his possible switch for the 2020/21 campaign. 

Asmah is currently unattached after ending his four-year stay with Italian Serie A side Atalanta BC following the expiration of his contract. He failed to break into the first team of Atalanta BC after his acquisition from Ghanaian second-tier club B.A United in 2016. The left-back who can operate as a defensive midfielder was farmed out to Avellino, Salernitana and Slovakian Fortuna Liga club FK Senica.

 He was released by Atalanta BC after his loan spell at FK Senica, where he scored three times with five assists in 25 matches. Asmah was a member of the Ghana U20 that played at the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015.
