DAY 1 Results of 2023/24 Ashanti Regional Inter-school Boys’ Soccer Competition: Prempeh, T.I AMASS, SIMMS, Sakafia & four others advance to R16 [+ DAY 2 FIXTURES]

The 2023/24 Ashanti Regional Inter-school and Colleges Boys’ Soccer Competition commenced on Thursday, January 11, 2024, producing some intriguing games at the famous Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The round of 32 commenced early in the morning at exactly 8 a.m., where Kumasi Academy suffered a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Fast Track SHS. Atta Bugum Masrun netted for Kumasi Academy, with Abubakar Massawudu Sadiq and Henry Osei Poku scoring for Fast Track to book a place in the next stage.

Defending Champions SIMMS SHS defeated T.I. AMASS-Fomena 2-0 in the second game of the day. Robert Boateng and Farouk Umar grabbed the goals for the Fawode-based school.

Giants Prempeh College thrashed Akumadan SHS 3-0. A brace from Dauda Nuhu and one by Roland Opoku Mensah saw the Sofoline boys humiliate their opponent.

Mankranso SHS was held to a goalless draw by Kumasi Senior High/Technical School (KSHTS). But the former managed to progress with a 3-1 victory through a penalty shootout.

Sakafia SHS7 emerged 3-1 winners over Ejisu SHTS. A first-half brace from Narbi Joseph and a goal from Ernest Arthur handed Sakafia a 3-0 lead before Asante Louis reduced the deficit in the second half.

Konongo Odumase also progressed to the round of 16 after posting a 2-0 victory against Obuasi SHTS. Mmoadam El-Shaddai and Ernest Mensah scored the goals for KOSS.


Asanteman SHS secured a slender 2-1 win over Nkawie SHTS. Francis Darko and Adu Acheampong bagged the goals for Asanteman, while Dennis Agyekum grabbed the consolation.

The last game of the day saw T.I. Amass-Kumasi advance with a 3-0 victory over Asare Bediako SHS. Henry Boateng opened the scoring from the spot before Opoku Moses scored twice for the Phobians in front of their vociferous fans.

The competition will continue on Friday morning with many intriguing fixtures.
