Austria announce Ralf Rangnick as new manager

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has been confirmed as the Austria national team manager.
Ralf will remain in the United consultancy role until the summer of 202 but it will be in a part-time role. He is expected to take up his post when preparations for the UEFA Nations League games against Croatia, Denmark, and France start at the end of May.
“The ÖFB Presidium unanimously appointed Ralf Rangnick as the new team boss of the national team on Friday,” a statement from Austria read.
Ralf comments
“It’s an honour for me to take on the role of team boss,” he said.
“I’m particularly excited about the prospect of contesting the European Championships in Germany with a young team hungry for success,” he added.
Speaking after Rangnick’s appointment, ÖFB- President Gerhard Milletich said;
“We are very pleased that we were able to win Ralf Rangnick, an outstanding expert in international football, as team boss. We are all convinced that he is the ideal man and that his vision will advance the national team and the ÖFB.”
“After a very well-founded and intensive process, we were able to win Ralf Rangnick, an absolute top man with a great international reputation as team boss. That makes me very proud and I’m really looking forward to working together,” says sporting director Peter Schöttel.
