1 min read

Former Asante Kotoko forward, Yahaya Mohammed has indicated that the action of the players of the club in Sudan ahead of Al-Hilal clash have tainted the image of Ghana football.

The players of the Porcupine Warriors on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, boycotted their last training session due to unpaid per diems and other bonuses by the management.

The happenings in faraway Sudan have brought divided opinions among football lovers and the Aduana Stars marksman has not hesitated airing his view.

According to Yahaya Mohammed, although the players are right to demand what is due them, they shouldn’t have put on such ‘shameful’ act since they are representing Ghana and not Kotoko.

He believes this will even affect the team psychologically when they take to the field tomorrow to play Al Hilal.

“It will affect them because football is now scientific. the least mistake made will affect you if you are not strong psychologically,” he is quoted as saying by FMIG

“What they have done is disgraceful to Ghana football and the entire Kotoko team. They have every right to demand their money but not at this point. It should not be outside the country. They are there to serve Ghana and not Kotoko alone.

“So if anything negative thing appears on the internet, it affects Ghana football,” he concluded.

The game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 6, 2020.
