Asante Kotoko management has taken a decision to donate GHS 5, 000 to help with the payment of the medical bills of the Offinso accident victims.
This was announced by the Chief Executive Officer of the Porcupine Warriors, Nana Yaw Amponsah during the unveiling of the 8-member Management Team on Tuesday, at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi.
This follows an accident on Saturday, involving about 36 young Ghanaian footballers of colts club, Africa Vision Soccer Academy claiming the lives of eight footballers as the minibus they were travelling on submerged into the Ofinso river.
Unfortunately, six of the young footballers died on the spot with two dying later at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Sunday.
They have also promised to attend all funerals of the deceased and help out. They have called on other clubs to do the same to help revive colts football in the country.
The GFA on Sunday, September 20, 2020, sent a delegation led by Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong and Ashanti Regional Football Association Chairman, Osei Tutu Agyemang to Offinso to commiserate with families of the victims and to visit the injured players.
