Black Stars Manager meets Portuguese community in Ghana

Black Stars Coach Carlos Queiroz is working extremely hard to build a strong relationship and family for himself in order to succeed in the herculean task given to him.

Last Saturday at the Marriot Hotel in Accra, the gaffer met and interacted with his fellow Portuguese internationals in Ghana.

The purpose of the meeting, Footydreamsgh.com understand, was to first introduce himself to his fellow citizens as the newly appointed Black Stars Coach for the next four months.

Second was to call for their prayers and unflinching support as he takes a giant step to fill the vacuum left behind by Coach Otto Addo.

Though Carlos is a Portuguese national, he revealed in his recent encounter with the media that he has a deep African root and that he feels at home staying in Ghana.

“I have a strong African root being born and raised in Mozambique, so the prospect of leading Ghana, a powerhouse on the continent to the World Cup is truly unforgettable. It is not just another job, rather it is a homecoming to the soil where I was born” he revealed during his unveiling.

Carlos Queiroz remains the third expatriate coach to have led the Black Stars to a FIFA World Cup.

Serbian coaches Ratomir “Doya” Djukovic and Milovan Rajevac led Ghana to the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup respectively.

Indigenous coaches Kwasi Appiah and Otto Addo steered affairs of the Stars in 2014 and 2022 but couldn’t progress from the group stage unlike the first two World Cup appearances.
