The Black Galaxies, otherwise known as local Black Stars are expected in camp today to begin preparations for some friendly matches ahead.

The Black Stars of Ghana, have two international friendly matches to play against Mexico and Wales to fine-tune themselves for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Stars will pitch strength against 2026 FIFA World Cup co-host, Mexico on Friday May 22, 2026. They will engage Wales in their final preparatory match on Tuesday June 2, 2026 at the Cardiff City Stadium in England.

It is likely most of Ghana’s foreign based players may not be available for the Black Stars – Mexico clash.

As a result of that, 32 players who ply their trade in the local scene have been called to camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Monday, April 20, 2026.

“The essence of this exercise is to create a comprehensive database for purposes of continues monitoring of players ahead of upcoming international assignments”

“The players will train and play at least one friendly match during their stay at the Technical Centre in Prampram” says Henry Asante Twum, GFA Communication Director.

Among the 32 players are Benjamin Asare, Solomon Agbesi, Kelvin Osei Assibey and Ali Mohammed all of Accra Hearts of Oak.

Patric Asiedu, Hurbert Gyau and Albert Amoah are from the camp of Asante Kotoko while Felix Kyei, Sulemana Fatawu and Salim Adams are from Medeama.

Aduana Stars provided Alex Boakye, Seidu Saana and Remember Adomako. There are players from other teams like Dreams FC, New Edubiase, Heart of Lions, Young Apostles, Bechem United and Basake Holy Stars.
