The Ghana Football Association has parted ways with Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, the country’s senior men’s national team.

Addo, who previously served as an assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund, was shown the door after Ghana lost both of its pre-World Cup friendly matches against Austria and Germany on Friday and Monday respectively.

In a statement announcing the decision, the Ghana FA explained: “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo effective immediately.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”

Addo’s departure marks another significant change in the technical setup of the national team as Ghana continues its preparations ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
