Striker Albert Amoah has made a shocking return to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko on loan less than three months after joining Libyan outfit Al Ahly Benghazi.
Amoah joined the North Aftican side following Kotoko’s exit from the CAF Confederation Cup last year. This was after the Porcupine Warriors had suffered a huge 5-1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) of Morocco in the second leg of the final preliminary round.
The former Great Olympics marksman bagged 15 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions in the 2024/2025 season and started this season with four goals in seven outings.
However, the 24-year-old failed to make any appearances for Benghazi hence the decision to return to Kotoko.
Kotoko travel to Bibiani Gold Stars coming weekend, but Amoah was not registered on time to be able to feature. However, he is expected to play in subsequent matches.
Kotoko have been poor upfront and the return of Amoah is expected to bring some form of sharpness. They currently occupies the fourth position, six points behind leaders Medeama.
