In Arsenal’s season opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, Eddie Nketiah found the back of the net, contributing to a 2-1 victory for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

Nketiah, leading Arsenal’s attack, showcased his prowess for 73 minutes before being replaced by Leandro Trossard. Thomas Partey also featured in the game, taking on an unusual role as a right back.

Throughout the encounter, Arsenal maintained higher possession and directed more shots on target, ultimately securing a favorable outcome.

The Gunners’ breakthrough arrived in the 26th minute when Martinelli skillfully assisted by outmaneuvering Danilo with intricate footwork. A skillful turn led to the ball falling to Nketiah, who adeptly cut inside and fired a drilled shot that found the net via a slight deflection, eluding Turner’s grasp.

In the 32nd minute, Forest appeared to have handled a corner situation, but Gibbs-White’s quick intervention deprived them of possession. A seamless series of passes followed, culminating in Saka unleashing a magnificent 25-yard strike that gracefully bent into the far corner of the net.

Nottingham Forest managed to score a consolation goal in the 82nd minute, as Taiwo Awoniyi capitalized on an opportunity, with substitute Anthony Elanga providing the assist.

Looking ahead, Arsenal is set to face Crystal Palace in their upcoming match, while Forest is slated to compete against Sheffield United.
