Hearts of Oak, the Ghana Premier League team, is reportedly on the cusp of finalizing a deal with a Dutch head coach for the upcoming 2023/24 season, as indicated by a report from Ghanasportspage.com.
According to the source, the Dutch coach is anticipated to arrive in Ghana over the weekend, marking a significant step towards formalizing his appointment.
The club had previously been engaged in advanced discussions with Tunisian coach Nabil Maaloul. However, regrettably, an agreement could not be reached between the two parties.
Interestingly, the recent unveiling of Dutch football strategist Rene Hiddink as the technical director for Hearts of Oak seems to have played a pivotal role in recommending the prospective coach to the Ghanaian giants.
Currently in the ninth day of their pre-season preparations, Hearts of Oak has been actively bolstering their squad as they gear up for the imminent start of the new season scheduled for September.
