Asante Kotoko has successfully secured the signing of WAFA SC captain, Michael Dwamena.
According to exclusive reports from Getsportsgh.com, the 23-year-old midfielder has joined Asante Kotoko on a two-year contract, with the option for an additional year.
Michael Dwamena is the first signing for Asante Kotoko in the current transfer window, and an official announcement is expected to be made soon.
Notably, Dwamena reunites with his former coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, at Kotoko, having previously worked together at WAFA.
He has been brought in as a replacement for Richard Boadu, who left the club to join Al Ahly in Libya.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko is reportedly in talks with former AshantiGold SC attacking midfielder, Seth Osei, to strengthen their squad for the upcoming 2023/24 league season.
However, the Porcupines face stiff competition from newly-promoted Ghana Premier League outfit Nations FC, who have expressed significant interest in the midfielder.
Seth Osei is currently a free agent after departing Egyptian side Baladiyat El Mahalla SC, despite his contributions to the club’s promotion to the Egyptian top-flight league.
Asante Kotoko will begin their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season with a match against Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
