Transfers: Asante Kotoko captain Richard Boadu joins Al Ahly SC

Asante Kotoko has officially announced the transfer of their midfielder and captain, Richard Boadu, to Libyan side Al Ahly SC on a permanent deal, pending completion of medical examinations.

Richard Boadu’s football journey began with Asante Kotoko’s youth side, and he rejoined the club in September 2021 after a stint with Medeama SC. During his time with Asante Kotoko, he played a crucial role in their success, contributing significantly to their Premier League victory in the 2021/2022 season.

Due to his unwavering determination, dedication, and outstanding performances in his debut season with the club, Boadu was appointed as the Club captain at the start of the 2022–2023 season.

As he departs the club, Richard Boadu leaves behind an impressive legacy, holding the team record for the highest number of tackles and most duels won. Additionally, he scored two goals, provided five assists, and received eight man of the match awards during his last season with Asante Kotoko.
