Philip Flamini, a suspended winger for Karela United, has been granted bail with three sureties by Her Worship Awo Amissah French at the Nkroful District Court.
Flamini was charged on three counts, including sexual assault and defiling a 13-year-old school girl.
The alleged incident occurred on April 29, when the 24-year-old Ghana Premier League star was accused of defiling a teenager at the team’s club house in Edwakpole, a suburb of Aiyinase in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
Flamini had been in police custody since that date and was later remanded for a week. He is set to reappear in court on May 15, 2023.
Karela United has already suspended Flamini pending the outcome of the ongoing police investigation into the allegations.
