The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League continued with match-day 27 fixtures across the various venues.

Asante Kotoko produced a spirited comeback to secure a 2-1 victory against Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

The league leaders started strongly, and forward Isaac Mintah scored the opener to give them the lead, and it appeared they were on course to extend their lead at the top of the table. However, Kotoko responded promptly, and Uganda striker Stephen Mukwala equalised in the 37th minute.

The first half ended level, but Kotoko returned from the break with more intensity and purpose.

Ivorian midfielder Serge Zeze scored the winning goal in the 48th minute to put Kotoko ahead for the first time in the match.

Despite Aduana’s efforts to equalize, Kotoko held on to their lead to secure a vital win, which keeps them in contention for the title race.

Aduana Stars still maintain their position at the top of the league table, but their lead has been reduced to three points while Kotoko are five points adrift the top.

In other league matches played on Sunday, Berekum Chelsea secured a late 1-0 win over Bibiani GoldStars to make it back-to-back wins.
