The fan who invaded the pitch during Ghana’s 1-0 win over Angola in an AFCON 2023 qualifier on Thursday has been granted bail.
Kwame Amponsah together with other four had been in police custody since Thursday evening, when he was arrested for invading the pitch while the game was ongoing.
With few minutes to end the second half, Kwame Amponsah found his way onto the pitch after evading security to go and embrace Ajax star Mohammed Kudus.
He was later taken off the field by police so the game could continue after a brief break in play. Others also tried but the police succeeded in preventing them.
They was later taken to the Asokwa police station where he has been kept until today.
According to sources, Mohammed Kudus visited Kwame and the other pitch invaders at the station and gave him a signed jersey.
The Black Stars will travel to Luanda to play the reverse fixture on Monday, March 27.
Ghana lead Group E with seven points, three more than Angola after three rounds of matches.
