2022/23 betPawa Premier League team of the first round announced, no Hearts of Oak player made the list

Abubakari Damba, a former Black Stars goalkeeper, has presented the best-performing players in each position for the first round of the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League as selected by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The GFA’s choices for the first round include Paa Kwasi Fabian as the best coach of the round and Lawrence Ansah, the Samartex goalkeeper who has kept 7 clean sheets this season, as the best goalkeeper.

The back four consists of Yahya Adramani from Bibiani GoldStars, Yussif Nurudeen from Real Tamale United (RTU), Nurudeen Abdulai from Medeama, and Leventius Arthur from Tamale City.

Seidu Abubakar from Samartex, Abass Samari Salifu from Accra Lions, Sam Adams from Aduana, and Stephen Dankwa Badu from RTU were selected for the midfield.

The attack is led by Mezack Afriyie from Berekum Chelsea and Steven Mukwala from Asante Kotoko, who have 9 and 8 goals respectively.

The substitutes bench includes Jacob Amu Mensah from Accra Lions, Emmanuel Antwi from Great Olympics, and Aduana trio Joseph Addo, Steven Anokye Badu, and Godfred Poku Wakii, as well as Clinton Doudu and Francis Twene from Bechem United.

The GFA used a 4-4-2 formation to make their selection.
